Crowds waiting patiently for a fleeting glimpse
People singing hymns
Waving flags cheering a kiss

Pavements packed at dawn
Possibly the entire Royal Air Force in the sky
More hats than you had ever believed
Had been created
Prime Ministers overlooked
And ceremonial uniforms
